Certifications
This course is part of the following Certifications:
Prerequisites
Completion of:
- Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices Part 2 (ICND2)
- !CI-BSCI
- It is also strongly recommended that the learner be familiar with MPLS and QoS concepts.
Course Objectives
This four-day leader-led class enables learners to use the technology principles of basic Quality of Service, and Quality of Service with Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), to implement advanced features and functions. The focus of the course is on best practices for implementing QoS from the Service Providers perspective, and strategies for deploying some of those features and functions in an existing SP environment.
Course Content
After completing this course the student should be able to:
- Describe the structure used to define Quality of Service
- Describe the tools used within Cisco IOS used to deploy and manage Quality of Service in complex networks to control and predictably service a variety of networked applications and traffic types, managing bandwidth, delay, jitter, and packet loss.
- Define the Cisco ?QoS Baseline"
- Identify and manage the QoS factors that directly affect Voice traffic, both for Call (bearer traffic) and Call Signaling.
- Provision QoS for Interactive-Video (i.e., video conferencing) and for Streaming Video.
- Provision QoS for data traffic: Locally-defined Mission-Critical, Transactional/Interactive, Bulk, Best-Effort, Scavenger, Routing / Network Management.
- Define MPLS VPN services for full-mesh connectivity.
- Define the Three-Class, Four-Class and Five-Class QoS models with traffic priorities and classifications
- Define the concepts and features of SP SLA Requirements for applications within different traffic models.
- Define typical QoS configurations for Frame-Relay access.
