VMware Zimbra Collaboration Server: Install, Configure, Manage (ZICM)

The Advanced Administration Course is designed for System Administrators who have taken the Basic Administration Course and who will be responsible for administering a multi-node ZCS environment including automated node failover and recovery.

• At a minimum - entry-to-mid-level administration experience and working knowledge the Linux OS.
• Familiarity with Zimbra Web Client features is beneficial - participants are recommended to have previously downloaded and used the trial version of ZCS.
• Knowledge of shell scripting is helpful.

This is an in-depth, 3-day, hands-on session that covers everything you need to know about installing, managing, and maintaining your ZCS deployment. This course covers the basic administration, plus the advanced administration functions of the configuration of a multi-node ZCS architecture and cluster setup for high-availability.

Sample topics and course work includes: ZCS architecture overview; hands-on ZCS installation and upgrade; Admin Console overview and demo; hands-on CLI tools review; system care (logs, queues, backups, etc); migration execution and planning; monitoring and troubleshooting; customization (Zimlets, skins/themes); HSM; clustering concepts; and multi-node architecture and deployment.

On completion of this course, you should be able to install, customize, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage ZCS. Successful participants should understand the Zimbra architecture and be able to do the following:

• Install Zimbra Network Edition
• Use the Zimbra administration console and command-line tools
• Monitor system logs, queues, and other resources
• Manage backup and restore
• Tune for performance
• Plan and design for capacity
• Understand migration options and planning
• Audit and troubleshoot the system as a whole
• Customize with themes and Zimlets
• Integrate ZCS with directory services
• Deploy ZCS on multiple nodes
• Deploy ZCS in a cluster
