Channel Partner Program Overview

Cisco rewards partners for adding value to Cisco products and delivering a positive customer experience. Certifications and specializations measure criteria such as customer satisfaction and presales and postsales support capabilities—critical factors in becoming a trusted partner.

The Channel Partner Program focuses on a partner's ability to deliver intelligent networks and technology architectures built on integrated products, services, and software platforms. The program offers training in the latest Cisco solutions and architectures in addition to valuable branding resources.

How do certifications and specializations relate to one another?
Channel Partner Program certifications are similar to academic degrees. Some specializations are prerequisites for becoming certified while others provide specialized knowledge of certain technologies. Certification levels reflect a partner's technology skills breadth. The higher your level of certification, the more credentials and resources you need to meet the requirements.

Certifications

Certification reflects a breadth of skills across certain technologies and is based on your organization's ability to support customers within a single country or country grouping. Country-level certifications range from entry to highest level: Select, Premier, Silver, Gold, Multinational, and Global Certification.

Identifies partners that focus on selling into the small business market; recognizes and rewards partners who have achieved the Cisco Small and Midsized Business Specialization or Express Security Specialization.


meetingPremier Certification
Identifies and rewards Express Foundation Specialized Partners, Express Collaboration Specialized Partners or partners with any one of the Cisco Architecture Specializations. This certification reflects the partner's increasing technical competency in the integration of basic routing and switching, wireless LANs, collaboration and security technologies.

Recognizes partners with expanded capabilities in areas of solution and architecture selling. Silver Certified Partners have either achieved two Architecture Specializations or one Advanced Specialization and one Architecture Specialization.


Cisco-channelpartnerprogrammaGold Certification
Offers the broadest range of expertise across four high growth market opportunities known as architecture plays-Borderless Networks, Collaboration, Data Center Virtualization, and IP Next-Generation Network. Gold Certified Partners have also integrated the deepest level of Cisco Lifecycle Services expertise into their offerings and demonstrate a measurably high level of customer satisfaction.


meeting Multinational Certification
Recognizes partners with expertise in selling, deploying, and supporting Cisco integrated solutions across multiple countries within a given Cisco geographical region. Partners that achieve the required number of Silver and Gold Certifications within the region will be recognized as Multinational Certified Partners for that region. To qualify, partners must have a multinational resale agreement.


meetingGlobal Certification
Recognizes partners with the expertise and resources to plan, design, implement, and operate Cisco networking solutions across the globe. Global Certified Partners must have a global resale agreement and satisfy certification requirements across three continental regions.

Express Specializations

Express-level specialization is for partners who want to increase their technical proficiency in the area of foundation networking.

Cisco Partner Authorizations

Previously, Cisco had an Authorized Partner Program (APP), an Authorized Technology Provider Program (ATP), as well as various welcome and pilot programs for acquired companies. As part of our efforts to simplify partner programs, we are rebranding these multiple program offerings into one offer within our Channel Partner Program called Authorizations.

How is my ATP or APP changing? Authorizations will continue to provide first-to-market opportunities for partners with specific skills, practices, and capabilities. The only change to any of these existing offers is the name. As of November 1, 2017, all of these offers will now go by one common name—Authorizations. The requirements and benefits of each will remain intact and without change for all enrolled and participating partners.

Authorization Requirements: Prerequisite for Cisco TelePresence Video Master Authorization Program include Advanced Collaboration Architecture Specialization. The Cisco TelePresence Video Master Authorization Program has established three roles. Persons filling roles must be employees and reside in the same Country where the Authorization Partner is fulfilling the program requirements.

Note: One individual may not fulfill more than one job role within the TelePresence Video Master Authorization Program. All Exams outlined per role are required. Partners can choose to test out of training, however the training outlined below is highly recommended.

Note: Role sharing guidelines for Authorization Partners are unique and specific for each Authorization program. The TelePresence Video Master Satellite Authorization Program allows role sharing, in that one individual may fulfill the two required job roles of Account Manager and System Engineer. However, the Field Engineer must be a unique individual.

Authorization Requirements: The UCCE Authorization Program has established five roles. Role sharing is not allowed between AM, SE, DE and PM. The individuals who fill the roles may be existing employees of the Authorization Partner. Cisco does not require that the Authorization Partner hire additional employees to fill these roles:

  • Account Manager (AM)
  • Systems Engineer (SE)
  • Deployment Engineer/TAC Support (DE/TS)
  • Project Manager (PM)
  • Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal (CVP) Developer (can be role-shared with any other role)

The personnel requirements identified in the above sections are minimum requirements to qualify for the UCCE Authorization Program. Authorization Partners should ensure that they have additional trained personnel as needed to support all customer engagements and their overall market opportunity. In addition to performing the indicated roles, these individuals are the first line of internal support

Advanced Architecture Specializations

Advanced and Architecture-level specializations help partners meet a wide range of customer needs, from small businesses to larger enterprise organizations.

Advanced Technology Specializations can be applied towards Silver Certification. Gold Certification requires three Advanced Architecture Specializations: Borderless Network Architecture (mandatory), Collaboration Architecture, Data Center Architecture and/or Advanced IP NGN Architecture Specializations. Architecture Specializations can also be applied toward Premier Certification or Silver Certification.
